Bridal Gowns and Body Style
Brooke Williams
There are thousands of different bridal gowns on the market and every bride wants the perfect dress to accompany her on her big day. The best idea is to sift through the various bridal gowns and find one that fits the specific body type of the bride.
If the bride has an hourglass figure, a two-piece dress is often quite flattering. These corset dresses enhance the hourglass figure and accentuate the waistline of the bride. If the gown is elaborate, it can be worn alone without a headpiece. At the very least, the headpiece should not be too large or overdone with this type of dress.
The bride who has a pear shaped body may look nice in A-line princess bridal gowns. These gowns have a way of disguising full hips. They also help to balance torso and bust areas with their sleek lines. An upswept hairstyle also helps emphasize an overall balanced look.
For petite brides, dresses that are clean and do not have too much fabric help to elongate the bride's shape. Mermaid dresses or ball gowns can overwhelm a petite shape. It is best for a petite bride to keep accessories to a minimum and allow the veil to fall only to the chapel or fingertip length.
For taller brides, the various bridal gown options are unlimited. Tall brides call pull off ball gowns, A-line dresses, princess cut styles and many other dress styles and options. The empire waist gowns should be avoided because on a tall bride, they can look almost tent-like.
If the bride has full arms, a gown with off the shoulder straps or even sheer fabric sleeves work well. The sleeves should not fit too tightly and should have a more flowing appearance.
There are enough wedding dress options on the market for every bride to find just the right fit and style for her big day.
